A man and a woman died on the spot after a two-wheeler they were travelling on collided with a van on the Kothagudem flyover near Devarapalli on the national highway in East Godavari district.
The incident occurred on Saturday midnight. The deceased have been identified as 27-year-old M. Raj Siva Krishna and 36-year-old P. Chinnari belonging to Subbarayapuram village in Devarapalli Mandal.
Kovvuru DSP Devakumar has said the two-wheeler, the two were travelling on, was going in the wrong side leading to the collision with a van that was going from Vijayawada to Rajamahendravaram. The driver and two passengers travelling in the van sustained minor injuries.
The bodies have been shifted to Gopalapuram government hospital for post-mortem. The police registered a case and the investigation is on.
