Para swimmers from Andhra Pradesh delivered an outstanding performance at the 26th Junior and Sub-Junior National Para Swimming Championship held recently in Bengaluru, said Sports Authority of A.P. Chairman A. Ravi Naidu.

Congratulating the athletes who visited him at his office in Vijayawada on Monday, Mr. Ravi Naidu expressed hope that they would continue the success in future and bring laurels to both the State and country at the international level as well.

He assured them that SAAP would provide all the necessary support and encouragement to promote the talent. The State won 29 medals, including 15 gold, eight silver, and six bronze in the tournament.

Later, in another programme, the winning athletes were felicitated at a ceremony organised by the Para Sports Association of Andhra Pradesh (PSAAP) at Tagore Library in Vijayawada. Indian Blind Cricket Team former captain I. Ajay Kumar Reddy and chief librarian Rama Devi took part as the chief guests.

They praised the athletes for their hard work, determination, and achievements and called them an inspiration to the society. Para athletes who had won medals at the national and international levels were honoured with certificates of appreciation and mementos.

Representatives of district associations that have been working for the development of para sports were also appreciated for their efforts.
