Man stabs mother, brother with a kitchen knife, calls and informs police

A 37-year-old man, Gunupudi Srinivas, reportedly stabbed his mother and brother to death with a knife while the they were in deep sleep in their house in Bhimavaram town in West Godavari district. The apparent reason for the extreme step is said to be family disputes.

West Godavari District Superintendent of Police Adnan Nayeem Asmi said: “Srinivas had stabbed his 60-year-old mother Mahalakshmi and 33-yearr-old brother Raviteja with a knife used in the kitchen. Srinivas, who is reportedly mentally unsound, himself informed the police about the incident over the phone.” Srinivas had stabbed the duo multiple times. 

Mr. Nayeem Asmi has said that the accused has been arrested and the investigation is on. The police sent the bodies to the Government hospital in Bhimavaram. A case has been registered.
