One of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) candidates who suffered defeat in Mannarkkad municipality on Saturday chose not to dwell on her loss. Instead, she lifted her spirits by joining the victory celebrations of a BJP candidate in the neighbouring Karakurissi panchayat, dancing joyfully alongside her BJP friend who was elected from the Pallikkurupu ward.

Anju P.S., the LDF candidate from Nambiyampadi ward (24) of Mannarkkad municipality, was defeated by the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) candidate, Sheeja Ramesh, by 277 votes. Unfazed by the setback, she chose not to let the defeat dampen her spirits.

Anju later joined the victory celebrations of BJP candidate Sneha C.R., who was elected from Pallikurup ward (6) of Karakurissi panchayat. Sneha, who defeated Congress candidate Jyoti Lakshmi by 23 votes, was the lone BJP winner in Karakurissi.

Explaining her presence at the celebrations, Anju said she joined in because the two shared a close friendship.
