IT and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh met Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan in the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday, and discussed the latest political developments and the agenda for the ongoing Budget session.

Mr. Lokesh went to Mr. Pawan Kalyan’s chamber in the Assembly, where both held a closed-door meeting. According to sources, the discussion focused on the prevailing political situation in Andhra Pradesh and coordination within the ruling alliance partners during the Budget session.

The meeting assumed significance as it took place on the first day of the Budget session, when key legislative business was lined up. Soon after Governor S. Abdul Nazeer’s address, the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting was scheduled to finalise the agenda and time allocation for the Budget session. This was to be followed by a meeting of the NDA Legislature Party to chalk out strategies and ensure a coordinated approach in the House.

Sources said Mr. Lokesh and Mr. Pawan Kalyan discussed important issues to be taken up during the Budget session, including priority sectors, policy initiatives, and matters requiring detailed debate on the floor of the House.

The focus, they added, was on presenting a united front and ensuring smooth conduct of legislative business.

The interaction between the two senior leaders is being viewed as part of efforts to strengthen coordination among the NDA partners and streamline decision-making ahead of crucial discussions during the Budget session.
