The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Karnataka, on Friday announced its strategic roadmap for fiscal 2026-27.
The trade body said that to accelerate competitiveness for its member companies, it would focus on five key pillars such as growth, resilience, inclusion, sustainability, and building trust.
Addressing a media conference here, Guruprasad Mudlapur, chairman, CII Karnataka State Council 2026-27 and president, Bosch Group India, and managing director, Bosch Limited, said, “Under the theme “Accelerating Karnataka’s Competitiveness”, the CII was focused on advancing the State’s leadership in innovation, advanced manufacturing, and technology-led growth.”
“Through our focused initiatives and programmes, we are driving policy advocacy, ease of doing business, and AI-led industrial transformation, while equipping industries, especially MSMEs, through our Centres of Excellence,” he said.
Growth mode
Highlighting Karnataka’s growth, he said, the State has been on a high-growth mode, recording 9.1% growth far ahead of the national average, and the CII Karnataka anticipating this pace to continue in the fiscal year 2027 as well.
Building on this momentum, the CII Karnataka would advance its agenda with a sharper focus on strengthening advocacy and ease of doing business, promoting inclusive and balanced growth beyond Bengaluru, and enhancing ecosystem competitiveness through capability building for Future Readiness, MSME, Family Business, Supply Chain, including AI transformation, Decarbonisation, Energy transition, and Water Stewardship, newly appointed representatives of the trade body said.
The CII Karnataka would also focus on learning and development, fostering strategic partnerships and collaborations, and supporting internationalisation initiatives to drive growth and expand market access, they added.
Future ready
The CII Karnataka representatives said the trade body’s agenda would prioritise enhancing competitiveness, strengthening global integration, and accelerating the adoption of sustainability practices and digital transformation. Together, these initiatives would create a more resilient, inclusive, and future-ready industrial ecosystem in the State, they said.
Moreover, services of the CII’s Centres of Excellence would be taken forward under cluster models in areas such as sustainability, energy transition, digital transformation, skilling, and MSME competitiveness, they said.
Sam Cherian, vice-chairman, CII Karnataka State Council 2026-27 & managing director, Schevaran Laboratories, a Mysore-based firm, said, “Karnataka stands at a pivotal moment in its growth journey, with significant potential to drive inclusive and regionally balanced development. At the CII Karnataka, our priority will be to accelerate the growth of tier-2 and tier 3 cities by strengthening local industrial ecosystems, fostering entrepreneurship, and enhancing infrastructure and market access.”
Empowering MSMEs
The CII Karnataka was particularly focused on empowering MSMEs and family businesses through capability building, digital transformation, and sustainable practices, enabling them to scale and compete globally, Mr. Cherian said.
“At the CII, we remain committed to stronger industry-government collaboration and initiatives like Beyond Bengaluru, and are working toward supporting our members become resilient,” he said.
