Congress leader and Kannur MP K. Sudhakaran on Thursday termed the Chief Minister’s recent remark branding Congress leaders as “licentious lot and sexual predators” as “a petty and unbecoming comment”, stating that such language “demeans the dignity of the office.”

Speaking to reporters, he said the controversy involving MLA Rahul Mamkoottathil may be discussed in the public domain but would not influence the election outcome. He added that voters are focused on governance issues rather than political mudslinging.

Mr. Sudhakaran reiterated his demand for a Central agency probe into the Sabarimala gold theft case, asserting that a proper investigation would eventually reach the Chief Minister.
