Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president K. Selvaperunthagai on Sunday reaffirmed that the INDIA bloc was intact, and would emerge victorious in the 2026 Assembly election, as the anti-INDIA bloc parties were splintered in Tamil Nadu.

Mr. Selvaperunthagai said in a statement that an NDA victory in Bihar did not mean a change of government in Tamil Nadu as well. “In Tamil Nadu, the INDIA bloc continues to function successfully on the ideals of secularism, social justice, and development. United against the BJP-led Union government’s anti-Tamil Nadu stance, the people have rallied in support of the INDIA alliance,” he said.

Mr. Selvaperunthagai added, “In Tamil Nadu, the anti-INDIA bloc votes are fragmented among the AIADMK-BJP alliance, TVK, and the Naam Tamilar Katchi. This situation will prevail in the 2026 Assembly election. No force can prevent the INDIA bloc from winning in Tamil Nadu and establishing good governance.”
