The Indian Women’s Cricket Team’s recent World Cup triumph has brought immense pride to the nation, with Andhra Pradesh’s N. Shree Charani emerging as one of the standout performers of the tournament. Following the team’s historic victory, Indian cricketer Shree Charani and former Indian captain Mithali Raj visited Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at his camp office on Friday (November 7, 2025). They were warmly received by Minister for HRD, IT and Communications Nara Lokesh.

The Chief Minister and Mr. Lokesh congratulated Shree Charani on her stellar contribution to India’s World Cup win and appreciated the team’s achievement in bringing global recognition to Indian women’s cricket. Ms. Shree Charani shared the joyful moments of the team’s victory and the challenges faced on the road to success. The cricketer hails from Yeramalapalli village in Veerapunayunipalle mandal of Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh.

Mr. Naidu praised the Indian women’s cricket team for showcasing the strength and determination of Indian women, noting that their World Cup triumph had set a powerful example for aspiring female athletes across the country.

Earlier, Ms. Shree Charani arrived to a grand welcome at Gannavaram airport, where Andhra Cricket Association president Kesineni Chinni, secretary Sana Satish, Ministers V. Anitha, S. Savitha, and G. Sandhya Rani and SAAP Chairman A. Ravi Naidu felicitated her. Later, Members of Parliament, Ministers, and the SAAP Chairman accompanied her to the Chief Minister’s camp office for the felicitation meeting.
