The Kerala High Court has held as maintainable a petition challenging the 2024 election as MP of actor and Union Minister Suresh Gopi from Thrissur.

The petition was filed by Thrissur native Benoy A.S., also an All India Youth Federation (AIYF) leader, alleging that Mr. Gopi and his election agent indulged in “corrupt” practices, as mentioned in the Representation of People’s Act, to solicit votes.

The petitioner alleged that Mr. Gopi misused religious symbols and also promised gifts to influence voters.
