A 33-year-old woman was killed after being knocked down by a private Omni bus in Arumbakkam on Saturday (October 18, 2025) night.

City traffic police said Sivasankaran, a resident of Ashok Nagar, was working in an information technology company. On Saturday (October 18) he, along with his wife Divya and two sons — Darshit (8) and Darshan (2) — went to Koyambedu market in his two-wheeler for shopping.

After finishing the shopping, the family was returning home along the 100-feet road, and as they came near the Arumbakkam MMDA Colony junction, an omni bus proceeding towards Poonamallee High Road hit the backside of the vehicle.

In the accident, Sivasankaran lost control of his vehicle and they all fell on the road. His wife Divya was run over and killed on the spot.

Anna Nagar Traffic Investigation police arrested the omni bus driver and are investigating.
