The Bhongir Rural police arrested two persons on Monday in connection with a series of night-time thefts reported from temples located on the outskirts of villages.

The accused were identified as Bodasu Yadagiri and Komire Srinu, both residents of Siddipet town. Police said the duo had travelled from Siddipet to Bhongir Rural area and were allegedly involved in stealing items from village temples during the night.

The thefts were reported from about five temples over the past few days, causing concern among local residents. The accused allegedly managed to evade the police initially. However, the crime staff examined CCTV footage from the affected areas and kept surveillance on their movements before apprehending them.
