Two killed, two others injured as lorry rams into moped and motorcycle in Karimnagar

Two persons were killed and two others seriously injured when a speeding lorry rammed into a moped and a motorcycle on the Nagunur-Chamanpalli road in Karimnagar rural mandal late on Sunday evening.

The lorry, travelling at a high speed, first knocked down a moped before hitting another two-wheeler near Nagunur around 7.30 p.m.

The rider of the moped, identified as 55-year-old Kommidi Devender Reddy, died on the spot and his wife Hyma, who was riding pillion on the moped, was injured in the accident. he deceased hailed from Sambaiahpalli village in Sultanabad mandal.

Dudem Raghuram of Chamanpalli village was riding a motorcycle when the speeding lorry rammed into the two-wheeler, killing him on the spot. The pillion rider sustained injuries. Both the injured persons were shifted to a nearby hospital.

The Karimnagar rural police registered a case and took up investigation.
