Sreenivasa Institute of Technology and Management Sciences (SITAMS) in Chittoor has begun talks with the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) on an academic partnership to strengthen teaching, research and student development, SITAMS Principal N. Venkatachalapathi said on Thursday (June 11, 2026).

According to a press release, the proposal was discussed at a meeting of senior academicians and administrators from the two institutions. Under the proposed collaboration, IIT Bombay will support SITAMS through faculty development programmes, student development programmes, and summer and winter schools.

The partnership is expected to raise educational standards, promote innovation and entrepreneurship, and create skill-development opportunities for rural and economically disadvantaged students, Mr. Venkatachalapathi said.
