The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) on Sunday expressed concern over the death of a youth whose decomposed body was recovered from a private stone quarry in Natham near Dindigul, and called for a thorough investigation into the incident.
In a statement, the party said the circumstances surrounding the death were “deeply disturbing” and raised questions about safety and accountability.
The party also pointed to reports that the quarry is linked to the son of a ruling DMK MLA, and said the case should not be dismissed as an accident or suicide without a proper inquiry.
Raising a series of questions, the TVK sought clarity on how the youth died, whether safety norms were followed at the quarry, and if there had been any attempt to conceal the incident. The recovery of the body in a decomposed state, it said, had heightened suspicion.
The party urged the State government and police to conduct a transparent investigation and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice, irrespective of their political background.
