Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said energy transition, climate action and inclusive growth will form the backbone of Telangana’s march toward Vision 2047.

Addressing a session titled Powering Telangana 2047 at the Global Summit, he said the State is driven by both a national duty and a moral commitment as it aims to become a 3-trillion-dollar economy with clean energy at the core of this transformation.

He said Telangana has already begun reshaping its energy landscape through a decisive push toward 100% clean mobility, Hyderabad’s target to host India’s largest e-bus fleet by 2030, and a roadmap to add 20 GW of new renewable energy capacity to the existing 11.4 GW.

While the State has ensured round-the-clock electricity, doubled contracted capacity and emerged among the top States in per-capita power consumption, the next three decades pose formidable challenges. Power demand is projected to exceed 1.39 lakh MW and 780 TWh by 2047, levels that cannot be met through traditional approaches.

He said Telangana will need large-scale renewable expansion, battery and pumped storage systems, flexible and efficient thermal capacity, a stronger transmission backbone, digitally managed and resilient urban distribution networks and crucially a strong financial ecosystem.
