World Tourism Day will be celebrated in Vypeen on September 27.

The programme, which begins at Bolgatty Palace, will eventually move to Kadamakudy, showcasing the culture, lifestyle, and art of the island communities. The celebrations are being jointly organised by the District Tourism Promotion Council and the Ministry of Tourism, said K.N. Unnikrishnan, MLA.

The event will start at 8:30 a.m. with a video presentation and cultural programmes. ‘Kadamakudy Kazhachakal’, a boat trip through the backwaters, will be flagged off at 11 a.m. A discussion on tourism and its evolution will be held at 2 p.m. The closing ceremonies will be held at Bolgatty Palace.
