Tamil Nadu CM Vijay to present Police Medals to 15 officers, personnel on Independence Day

On the occasion of Independence Day 2026, Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay will present the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Police Medal for Excellence in Investigation to 10 police officers and personnel and the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Police Medal for Excellence in Public Service to five police officers and personnel on Saturday (August 15, 2026).

According to an official press release, 10 police officers and personnel have been selected for the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Police Medal for Excellence in Investigation, in recognition of their outstanding work in criminal investigation and commitment and dedication to duty.

The recipients are C. Jaishree, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Gummidipoondi Sub-Division; N. Tamilarasi, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Tiruvallur Sub-Division; K. Alaguraj, Inspector of Police, Cyber Crime Police Station, Coimbatore City; N. Thanusiya, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Organised Crime Unit, Crime Branch-CID, Tiruchi City; S. Latha, Inspector of Police, Special Juvenile Aid Police Unit, Coimbatore City; V. Gomathi, Assistant Inspector General of Police (Administration), Office of the Director-General of Police and Head of Police Force, Chennai; M. Chithra, Inspector of Police, Kaikalathur Police Station, Perambalur district; R. Vinatha, Inspector of Police, Melmalayanur Police Station, Villuppuram district; G. Mahalakshmi, Inspector of Police, District Crime Records Bureau, Sivaganga district; and S. Vijayakumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West), Tirunelveli City.

Five police officers and personnel have also been selected for the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Police Medal for Excellence in Public Service in recognition of their outstanding work and commitment to selfless public service.

They are V. Sasi Mohan, Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Dindigul Range; D. Shanmuga Priya, Superintendent of Police, West Range, Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Chennai; C.M.R. Manimozhiyan, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Special Branch-CID, Chennai; K. Madhan Mohan, Inspector of Police (Tech), State Police Master Control Room, Chennai; and M. Ravikumar, Head Constable, Karur Town Police Station.

Each recipient will be presented with a gold medal weighing eight grams and a cash reward of ₹25,000, the release added.
