The Bengaluru police have registered cases against two pubs in the heart of the city, including Bastian Garden City, co-owned by actress Shilpa Shetty, for operating beyond permitted hours.

THe police have also booked Sourberry Pub on Residency Road, where Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan was earlier involved in an incident, in which an obscene hand gesture had triggered a preliminary enquiry. A recent viral video showed two men involved in a scuffle at Bastian pub on December 11.

According to the Cubbon Park police, they took up suo motu cases based on the videos, which indicated that the pubs were operating beyond permitted hours. A senior police officer said the cases were part of a broader crackdown on pubs in the run-up to the New Year.
