A trade union affiliated to the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) has called for a two-day strike shutting down Supplyco outlets from January 28 after discussions over the union’s demands failed.
Demands raised by the union included payment of salary arrears pending since 2019, assurance of minimum wages and job security for temporary packing employees, rectification of irregularities in CSR activities, and the implementation of government-mandated 10% deputation policy.
Supplyco Managing Director Jayakrishnan and CITU union leaders N.A. Mani, K.R. Baiju, Savitha, and Vaishakh attended the conciliatory meeting. Reportedly, demands raised by the union were before the State government and the Supplyco management could not take a call on them.
