All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday (October 17, 2025) met Congress candidate Naveen Yadav — who filed his nomination to contest the Jubilee Hills Assembly byelection — during a visit to the Shaikpet area.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Owaisi said he advised Mr. Yadav to be inclusive and to take along people of all communities who make up the over 3.98 lakh voters in the constituency. He said that every ward in Jubilee Hills faced issues linked to civic infrastructure that required attention.

The Hyderabad parliamentarian reiterated said that his party would not contest the byelection. He added that the outcome of the byelection would not directly affect the Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy-led Congress government, as the results would neither lead to its formation nor its fall.

At a recent public gathering, Mr. Owaisi had urged voters to take a ‘good decision’ and support a young and local candidate.

He reiterated his criticism of former legislator from Jubilee Hills, late Maganti Gopinath, alleging that despite the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) being in power for ten years, the constituency had seen little development and that an opportunity to improve civic amenities had been squandered.
