The demand for skilled manpower from Karnataka has been increasing across the globe and the latest demand is from companies located in Slovakia, Europe.

Global automaker Stellantis, which is the manufacturer of Citroën C3, C3 Aircross, and Opel Frontera models, has placed fresh manpower requests with the Karnataka government, this time seeking candidates with advanced automobile electrical skills.

The company, which already employs around 100 assembly-line operators from Karnataka at its Trnava plant near Bratislava, conveyed its demand during a meeting with Dr. Sharanaprakash Patil, Skill Development & Medical Education Minister, and Dr. M.C. Sudhakar, Higher Education Minister. Both are currently touring select European cities as part of a roadshow ahead of the Bangalore International Job Fair, scheduled for February 2026.

During their visit to Stellantis, the Ministers reviewed the plant facilities and welfare measures provided to workers from Karnataka. At present, the company employs over 50 heavy vehicle drivers and 100 assembly-line operators trained and upskilled by the Karnataka Vocational Training & Skill Development Corporation (KVTSDC). Their immigrations and placements were facilitated by the International Immigration Centre of Karnataka (IMC-K).
