The final electoral roll of Tamil Nadu after the 2026 Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise was published on Monday (February 23, 2026), according to which there are 5,67,07,380 electors across the State, Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik said in Chennai. Among the Assembly constituencies, Sholinganallur has the highest number of electors – at 5,36,991 – whereas Harbour has the lowest, at 1,16,896.

In December last year, the Election Commission of India (ECI) published the integrated draft electoral rolls of Tamil Nadu after the enumeration form period of the SIR ended. In the draft electoral roll, more than 97.3 lakh electors – or 15% of those on the roll – were removed.

In October last year, when the Commission froze the electoral roll of Tamil Nadu, the State had 6.41 crore voters. According to the draft electoral rolls, the total number of electors in the State was at 5.43 crore. The period for filing claims and objections opened on December 19, 2025, and continued till January this year.

She said Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar would visit Tamil Nadu on February 26 and 27 and would meet representatives of various political parities and government agencies.
