Successful implementation of the 99-day action plan and sensitisation of the district collectors for the upcoming census exercise will be the major components of the collectors conference being held here on Tuesday.

The day-long conference will feature planning and modalities that should be adopted for the all important census exercise. Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao directed the district collectors to conduct thorough groundwork to ensure accurate, transparent and time-bound enumeration. The Chief Secretary conducted a preparatory meeting with senior officials for the conference to be addressed by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and to be attended by all Ministers.

The morning session of the conference would deliberate on the census exercise and the officials concerned would be briefed about the steps that should be taken for the 99-day action plan, Praja Palana – Pragati Pranalika starting March 6 in the afternoon session. Officials were briefed about the importance of the conference with particular emphasis on priority development works, expeditious land acquisition processes and timely forest clearances.

The Chief Secretary directed departments to prepare detailed presentations outlining targets, timelines and monitoring mechanisms so that district administrations were clearly aligned with the State’s developmental roadmap. He underlined the importance of the Praja Palana – Pragati Pranalika asserting that the initiative envisaged strengthening governance outreach, acceleration of development programmes and ensuring effective service delivery at the grassroots level.

The district collectors would play a pivotal role in coordinating activities under the 99-day action plan and ensuring tangible outcomes.
