A day after Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy warned officials of suspension if roads are not clean, sanitation works in the Corporations in and around Hyderabad were reviewed by Commissioners concerned. Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao too held a review meeting on the measures taken up for garbage collection, sanitation and protection of public health.

The Chief Minister, who is also the MA&UD Minister, on Tuesday directed officials to study scope for skywalks in areas with heavy traffic density, ensure operation and maintenance of street lights, and explore possibility of smart poles in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits. On the occasion, he said that officials will be suspended on the spot if cleanliness on roads is not maintained. The Chief Minister also said that he would visit all zones in the Corporation.

At a review meeting held with Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) officials at the State Secretariat on Wednesday (February 17, 2026), the Chief Secretary said that a surveillance unit has to be set up to monitor the sanitation and cleanliness works in the city.

The Commissioners made a Powerpoint Presentation (PPT) to the Chief Secretary to explain the measures taken so far to maintain cleanliness. Stressing on the significance of the Municipal department and importance of attending to needs of people, the Chief Secretary said that officials neglecting their duties will not be spared.
