Sai Pallavi, S.J. Suryah, and Anirudh to receive ‘Kalaimamani’ Awards

Cine actors S.J. Suryah, Sai Pallavi, Vikram Prabhu, Jaya V.C. Guganathan, K. Manikandan, and M. George Maryan were among those who have been named to receive the Tamil Nadu government’s ‘Kalaimamani’ Awards for the years 2021, 2022, and 2023. The State government released the lists under various categories on Wednesday (September 24, 2025).

Film director Lingusamy, art director J.K. alias M. Jayakumar, stunt master ‘Super’ Subbarayan, lyricist Viveka, music director Anirudh, playback singer Shweta Mohan, and choreographer ‘Sandy’ alias A. Santhosh Kumar have also been named to receive the ‘Kalaimamani’ for these years.

Litterateur N. Murugesa Pandian has been selected to receive the Bharathiar Award for Literature, ‘Padma Bhushan’ K.J. Yesudas has been chosen for the M.S. Subbulakshmi Award for Music, and Padma Shri Muthukannammal has been named for the Balasaraswathi Award for Dance.

Tamil Isai Sangam in Chennai (Raja Annamalai Mandram) has been chosen for an award under the associations category from the Tamil Nadu Eyal Isai Nataka Manram, and ‘Kalaimamani’ M.R. Muthusamy Memorial Drama Troupe has been selected for the award under the drama troupe category.

As many as 90 artistes have been named to receive the Kalaimamani Awards for 2021, 2022, and 2023. The awards honour those excelling in literature, music, dance, theatre, cinema, and traditional arts, among others. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will preside over a function in Chennai in October this year, where these awards will be presented.
