Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) activists staged a black flag protest against Devaswom, Ports and Cooperation Minister V.N. Vasavan on Thursday morning in Kannur, Kerala. The demonstration was held in protest against the alleged Sabarimala gold theft.

The protest, organised by BJYM Kannur North District committee, took place around 9.30 a.m. when the Minister’s convoy was en route to the Azhikkal port to attend a meeting.

Activists gathered on the Padannapalam road and waved black flags at the Minister’s convoy, which was moving at high speed with the police escort. The protesters shouted slogans demanding the Minister’s resignation, holding him responsible for the alleged gold theft in Sabarimala.

The activists were, however, able to display the black flags only briefly as the convoy sped past the protest site. Police presence prevented any disruption to the Minister’s schedule.
