Raging speculation about Congress’ CM-designate consumes the party in Kerala

Raging speculation about Congress’s probable Chief Minister seemed to consume the party in Kerala on Tuesday (May 5, 2026), even as the Congress high command comprising Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary K.C. Venugopal, was reportedly poised to commence preliminary discussions in Delhi to settle the nagging question. 

Mr. Venugopal seemingly added to the political theatre by telling reporters that the high command’s decision on the party’s Chief Minister candidate was “imminent” before leaving for Delhi for discussions from Kochi.
