Vizianagaram Collector S. Ramsundar Reddy on Monday said that Bhogapuram international airport would act as a growth engine for the quick development of the district. In the presence of Superintendent of Police A. R. Damodar and Joint Collector S. Sedhu Madhavan, he unfurled the tricolour in Vizianagaram on the 77th Republic Day.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the government is taking steps for quick development of Vizianagaram— the establishment of the airport, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. (MSME) parks and new industries while giving equal priority for the welfare of downtrodden sections also. He released ₹1,019.14 crore fund via bank linkage for 8,395 women self-help groups. He awarded certificates to meritorious officers on the occasion.
Parades, cultural shows, photo exhibition, stalls caught the attention of the people during the celebrations. MLC Gade Srinivasula Naidu praised district officials for showcasing the government welfare and developmental initiatives through the exhibition.
