An orientation programme on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act, 2013, was conducted at the Collectorate conference hall in Visakhapatnam on Monday for district-level permanent government officers. The programme was organised under the coordination of District Women, Child Welfare and Empowerment Officer K.V. Ramalakshmi.

The event aimed to strengthen awareness of legal provisions related to the prevention, prohibition, and redressal of sexual harassment at the workplace, and to reinforce the roles and responsibilities of officers across government departments.

Hema Yadavalli, Senior Vice Chairperson, FICCI FLO, was the principal speaker. She elaborated on the key provisions of the Act, prevention measures, grievance redressal mechanisms, and employer obligations, and stressed that every employee has a duty to foster mutual respect, equality, and a safe working environment.

Officers from various government departments participated actively in the discussions. The programme concluded with a collective resolve to ensure safe, dignified, and harassment-free workplaces across all government offices and institutions.
