Ending days of speculation, the lucky winner of the Kerala State Lotteries department’s ₹25-crore Thiruvonam bumper has been traced to Thuravoor in Alappuzha.
Sarath S. Nair, an employee at a paint shop, purchased the winning ticket (TH 577825) from the lottery stall of agent Latheesh at Nettoor in Ernakulam.

The winners of the Onam bumper lottery were announced on Saturday (October 4, 2025), but the first prize winner was not known immediately.
Mr. Nair said he first informed his brother about winning the jackpot and later told his wife. He presented the winning ticket at the State Bank of India, Thycattussery branch, on Monday (October 6, 2025).
“I feel very happy. This is the first time I have bought a lottery ticket. I thought I would tell everyone once I was sure that I had won the prize,” Mr. Nair told the media.
He said he has “not yet decided” how to spend the amount.
