Overnight non-stop rains across Hyderabad and several parts of Telangana brought much-needed relief from the scorching heatwave conditions that had gripped the State over the past week.

The rains began in Hyderabad after 10 p.m. on Tuesday (May 26, 2026) as dark clouds covered the sky and several parts of the city witnessed lightning and thunders. About an hour later, light showers started in many areas and continued steadily through the night. Though the rainfall was not very heavy in most parts of the city, the continuous showers helped bring down temperatures and provided relief to residents who had been enduring intense daytime heat. Many parts of the city remained cloudy on Wednesday (May 27, 2026) morning.
