YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has accused Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of misusing government institutions to close corruption cases against himself and to persecute political opponents.
Addressing the media at the party office at Tadepalli, near here, on Thursday, the former Chief Minister also alleged rampant corruption under the NDA rule in the State.
Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy further alleged that Mr. Naidu was “quietly ensuring the withdrawal of cases against himself in violation of bail conditions.”
“Mr. Naidu is intimidating the officials, forcing them to give false statements, and filing government petitions to get his own cases quashed one by one,” he alleged.
“We will expose the truth and educate the people by showing the other side of the coin,” Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy said, adding, “We will fight the battle through the courts. God and people are watching. One day, they will deliver justice.”
Claiming that the YSRCP’s one-crore signature campaign against “privatisation of medical colleges” received massive public support, he said the signatures gathered and a representation would be submitted to the Governor on December 16. “The YSRCP will also file a petition in the High Court challenging the government’s decision to privatise the colleges,” he said.
He also accused the NDA government of implementing “Red Book constitution” driven by vindictive politics and nepotism, and cited the death of 29 students allegedly due to contaminated food, hospitalisation of inmates from unhygienic hostels, deterioration of the midday meal scheme, mounting fee reimbursement arrears, and rollback of education reforms initiated by the YSRCP government.
He also referred to the alleged adulteration of ghee in the preparation of Tirupati laddu prasadam and the TTD Parakamani theft cases, the “unfulfilled” Super Six promises, pending employee dues, and problems at the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.
Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy asserted that false cases, with manufactured evidence, had been foisted on political adversaries.
