Government Degree College, Mulugu, has adopted the a Gotto Koya tribal settlement, Boda Ramanna Gadda, in Jagganna Gudem of Mulugu mandal as part of its community service and social responsibility initiative. A team led by principal K. Mallesham visited the village on Friday and distributed provision kits worth ₹1,000 each to 22 tribal families. Awareness programmes on health, hygiene, literacy, and women’s empowerment were also conducted.

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is coordinating the adoption programme to ensure sustained development activities, including educational support, digital literacy and skill-building. NSS Units I and II, along with various college committees, actively participated in the initiative.

According to the college, the adoption aims to improve educational awareness among tribal children, promote sanitation practices, and foster student participation in community service while strengthening ties with the local community.

Vice-principal B. Balaiah, academic coordinator Ch. Bhaskar, NAAC coordinator S. Kavitha, web coordinator B.Jagdish, members of the IQAC team, teaching and non-teaching staff and a large number of students participated in the programme.
