Forest and Environment Minister Eshwar Khandre assured that a grant of ₹10 crore would be sanctioned from the Kalyana Karnataka Region Development Board (KKRDB) for construction of a Buddhist cultural centre at Andur village in Bidar district.

Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the Buddhist Conference on the 12th anniversary of the Anand Bodhi Maha Stupa at Andur Buddha Vihar on November 17. Mr Khandre said that the cultural centre would be constructed in consultation with the authorities concerned, following the architectural models of Buddha Vihar either at Kalaburagi, or Udgir in Maharashtra.

Highlighting the relevance of Buddhist teachings, Mr. Khandre said that following the principles of Gautama Buddha brings peace, harmony and stability in society and in every individual’s life.

Municipal Administration and Haj Minister Rahim Khan also spoke on the occasion. Monks Bhante Dhammanand, Bhante Jnana Sagar, Bhante Sangha Rakkhita, and Bhante Jnana Prakash were among those present.
