St. Stephen’s College, Pathanapuram, hosted a grand Merit Day celebration for the 2025-26 academic year to honour the outstanding achievements of the 2024-25 batch.

The event served as a platform to recognise excellence in both academic and extracurricular spheres, bringing together distinguished guests, faculty, and students to celebrate the institution’s commitment to holistic education.

Principal Dr. Biju A.; Beena S. Haneef, Revenue Divisional Officer and Sub-divisional Magistrate of Punalur; Dr. Sabu Thomas, Director of the Centre of Excellence in Microbiome (CoEM) under the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE); and Fr. Dr. Roy John, a member of the college’s governing body also spoke on the occasion.

A major highlight of the day was the formal unveiling of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the college’s Post Graduate Department of Botany and the KSCSTE-Centre of Excellence in Microbiome. This strategic partnership is designed to bridge the gap between traditional academic pedagogy and cutting-edge research. By aligning the department with the CoEM, the college aims to provide students and faculty with direct access to advanced scientific exploration in the field of microbiome studies.
