Retired Archbishop Mallavarapu Prakash passes away

Retired Archbishop Mallavarapu Prakash (77) died after a brief illness on Sunday (June 7, 2026). He underwent treatment for respiratory diseases in a hospital in Visakhapatnam, where he passed away, according to a statement from Vijayawada Catholic Bishop Telagathoti Joseph Rajarao, who expressed his condolences. Mallavarapu Prakash served as the Bishop of Vijayawada from 2002 to 2012, according to Monsignore Muvvala Prasad and Vicar General M. Gabriel.
