A 26-year-old man was killed and two others were injured after a heavy machine being unloaded from a crane crashed on them at an industrial unit in Subhash Nagar, Petbasheerabad, on Wednesday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Aravind Sai, who had gone to SSR Enterprises along with Vamshi and Prakash to inspect newly arrived panel board manufacturing machinery.

According to the police, the incident was reported around 3 p.m. while the machines were being unloaded using a crane. Two machines were unloaded safely, but while the third machine was being lowered, it reportedly slipped out of control and fell on Aravind Sai.

He was immediately shifted to a private hospital in Suchitra, where doctors declared him dead.

Two other individuals, identified as Shivam Tirupati Reddy and Lingala Pavan Kumar, sustained injuries to their left hand during the incident and received medical treatment.

The case was registered based on a complaint lodged by Ambati Durga Prasad, a businessman from Dubbaka in Siddipet district. The complaint alleged that the accident occurred due to negligence on the part of the crane driver, Deepak, as well as inadequate safety measures by SSR Enterprises owners Satish Reddy and Srinivas Reddy.

Petbasheerabad police registered a case and launched an investigation.
