LPG crunch reaches Bengaluru clubs; banquets, takeaways curtailed

Bengaluru

The ongoing conflict in West Asia and its effect on LPG supply have now hit clubs in Bengaluru, with many sending out circulars to members about shortened menus and restricted guest entries.

These decisions have come in view of the uncertainty in LPG supply following the invocation of the Essential Services Maintenance Act, 1981, regulating the distribution of cooking gas and natural gas. The clubs are taking these steps to conserve LPG for longer runs so that they do not reach the brink of exhausting the available supply.
