The NTR Commissionerate police will book those who resort to drunk and rash driving and create nuisance at public places on the pretext of New Year Celebrations.

Police Commissioner S.V. Rajashekar Babu appealed to the public to celebrate New Year in a peaceful manner and not to create trouble on the roads. In a statement issued here on Monday, the Police Commissioner said Benz Circle and Kanaka Durga flyovers will be closed on December 31st night.

People were requested not to cut cakes on roads, form groups, do stunts on bikes, create nuisance on the roads, not to resort to eve-teasing and triple riding posing threat to other vehicle riders, he said.

Police will intensify patrolling on BRTS Road, M.G Road (Bandar Road), Eluru Road and other main thoroughfares and conduct checking to prevent drunk driving.

Public should celebrate the occasion without creating any trouble for others and follow traffic rules. Instructions have been given to the police to act tough against trouble makers during the New Year Celebrations, Mr. Rajashekar Babu said.
