A cheque is being handed over to the victims, who won the case in the Lok Adalat, in Guntur on March 14, 2026.

“National Lok Adalat is a platform to deliver immediate justice to the poor with minimal expenditure and in the shortest possible time,” said in-charge Principal District Judge Y. Nagaraja while launching the programme in Guntur district on Saturday (March 14, 2026).

He said the initiative aims to ensure swift, accessible and affordable justice for common people through amicable settlements.

“Under the leadership of Principal District Judge and District Legal Services Authority Chairman B. Sai Kalyanachakravarthi, the Guntur unit has secured first place in three consecutive National Lok Adalats,” he noted.

For the current Lok Adalat, 41 Benches were constituted across the district, including 15 in Guntur city, with about 24,500 cases identified for settlement. He expressed confidence that more than 2,000 civil cases would be resolved during the day.

Mr. Nagaraja said a long-pending execution petition, linked to a 2009 suit between Sri Bharathi Warehousing Corporation and M/S Sri Balaji Housing Private Limited, was settled for ₹2,68,60,000 after years of litigation.

Two other cases, related to 2023 and 2018, involving money recovery and cancellation of sale deeds, were also settled for ₹25 crore. Additional District Judges R. Sarath Babu and V.N. Srinivasarao and DLSA Secretary Syed Ziyauddin attended the programme.
