Kavitha slams lack of development in Medchal constituency

HYDERABAD

Telangana Jagruthi president K. Kavitha has criticised both the incumbent Congress government and the previous BRS regime for allegedly neglecting development in Dammaiguda and Jawahar Nagar areas of Medchal district.

During her visit to these localities on Sunday, she said, “Despite tall claims of progress by former minister Ch. Malla Reddy, the region continues to suffer from neglect. Locals are struggling due to the lack of basic amenities such as drinking water, roads, electricity, schools, and hospitals,” She added that Medchal is touted as the largest constituency in India.

There are only a handful of government junior and degree colleges. The entire education system here is dominated by private institutions, mainly those run by Malla Reddy, she said, alleging that the area has also become a hub for illegal activities like ganja trade.

She criticised the ‘worsening’ situation at the Jawahar Nagar dumping yard, claiming that the problem has multiplied since the Congress came to power. She also accused Malla Reddy of land grabbing and obstructing road expansion projects. She raised concerns over pending land registrations under GOs 58 and 59 meant for regularisation of plots, alleging favoritism. “We will fight this legally and even approach the Supreme Court to help the people,” she declared.

Ms. Kavitha lamented that the situation in Medchal has remained unchanged despite a decade of BRS rule and two years of Congress.
