People all over India are celebrating Durga Puja during the Navaratri season. The event is celebrated for 10 days. This year, it is celebrated upto Thursday, October 2, 2025. For generations, Durga Puja has been more than a festival.

People are showcasing the festive atmosphere by celebrating their jubilant mood in the form of creatively made pandals. There are some unique pandals made out of wood, metal, coconut fibre, plastic, etc. The mood is lively not just in West Bengal, but across the country. Some of 2025’s Puja pandals spanned themes ranging from food adulteration to acid attack victims. Workers in the pandals come from districts across West Bengal to give shape to the themed extravagant artwork that bring the Durga Pooja to life in other states.

Even sex workers of Kolkata conducted the 13th edition of their own Durga Pooja fighting social stigma and showing resilience. With Kolkata facing incessant rains, some Durga Pooja pandals were flooded, leaving organisers to repair the damages.
