“I will never forget the people of Badami who helped me when I needed it the most,” Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said in Badami on Monday.

“I contested from Badami and Varuna constituencies in 2018. I lost in Varuna that I represented for five terms previously. But with the support of the people of Badami , I won the elections. That helped me continue serving the people of the State and Badami for the next five years. I could not devote much time to Badami. I may have addressed two or three public rallies during the campaign. But then, the people of Badami are large hearted and they sent me to the Assembly. I remain grateful to you. I will never ever forget this,” he said.

He was speaking during the inauguration of Chalukya Utsav there.

“He expressed regret that during his term as MLA, the utsav could not be organised and the statue of Immadi Pulakeshi could not be unveiled in Badami. But now, we have taken them up. We are organising the utsav at a cost of ₹3 crore and laid the foundation for the statue. MLA Bhimsen Chimmankatti has demanded that an additional ₹1 crore be released for the utsav. We have accepted this demand,” he said.
