The period between the date of polling and the date of counting votes should normally be quiet. But, in Tamil Nadu, which saw a record voter turnout of 85.1% with about 4.88 crore people casting their votes on April 23, 2026, an intense debate is on about a host of issues.

The issues vary from the advisability of Chief Minister M.K.Stalin taking a holiday in Kodaikkanal to the comparative performance of Tamil Nadu with other southern States with respect to the Information Technology (IT) sector to the possibility of a coalition regime getting formed due to the presence of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) led by actor C. Joseph Vijay.
