Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Friday (November 7, 2025) announced a ₹10,000-crore relief package for farmers whose crops were damaged due to unprecedented unseasonal rains across the State.

The Chief Minister said that the state has witnessed “an unusual spell of unseasonal rainfall not seen in the past two decades,” which caused extensive crop loss in several districts.

“Along with my cabinet colleagues, I visited different districts and directly interacted with affected farmers to understand their condition,” Mr. Patel said, assuring that the state government “stands firmly and sensitively with the farmers in this difficult time.”

In addition to the relief package, the Chief Minister announced that from November 9, the State government will begin procurement of groundnut, moong, urad, and soybean from farmers at minimum support prices worth over ₹15,000 crore.

Reiterating the government’s commitment to farmers, Mr. Patel said, “The state government has always been, and will continue to be, dedicated to ensuring the economic well-being of our food providers.”
