To improve passenger convenience and enhance digital accessibility, the Bengaluru Division of South Western Railway (SWR) has expanded its QR-based digital navigation system, Namma Nakshe, to 14 railway stations across the division.

Initially launched at KSR Bengaluru Station, the Namma Nakshe facility is now available at Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal (SMVT) Bengaluru, Bangarapet Junction, Kengeri, Krishnarajapuram, Yelahanka Junction, Karmelaram, Hosur, Hindupur, Mandya, Ramanagaram, Sri Sathya Sai Prashanthi Nilayam, Tumakuru, and Whitefield stations.

According to SWR, the web-based platform, accessible at www.nammanakshe.com, provides passengers with real-time, station-specific navigation assistance through an interactive digital map. Commuters can simply scan a QR code displayed across station premises to access a detailed 2D layout of facilities such as platforms, exits, foot overbridges, subways, waiting halls, restrooms, lifts, escalators, ramps, drinking water points, and catering stalls.

“The application includes image-based guidance and route suggestions to help passengers move easily between concourses and platforms. It also lists essential information such as cloakroom and parking tariffs, battery car service charges, and contact details for wheelchair assistance, RPF Helpline, and Child Helpline,” a senior SWR official said.

“With the expansion of Namma Nakshe, passengers can now access real-time digital station maps across major railway stations in and around Bengaluru. The initiative has been designed to improve wayfinding, especially for senior citizens, passengers with luggage, and families travelling with children,” official explained.

By clearly marking ramps and lifts, Namma Nakshe supports inclusive mobility and ensures smoother station movement. The official added, “The application has evolved into a one-stop digital companion for passengers, combining navigation, accessibility, and service information in a single platform.”
