IAS officer S. Nagalakshmi took charge as Managing Director of AP-Genco, at Vidyut Soudha in Vijayawada on Wednesday. On the occasion, she said her focus would be on renovation and modernisation of the thermal power plants to reduce emissions in compliance with the pollution control norms.
She appealed to the employees to work together to enhance thermal, hydel and solar generation capacities, and stressed the need for AP-Genco to align its operations with the government’s objective of providing 24×7 quality and reliable power through optimum generation.
Ms. Nagalakshmi expressed her gratitude to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar, Chief Secretary & Special Chief Secretary (Energy) K. Vijayanand for having faith in her and entrusting the responsibility of taking the AP-Genco forward.
Later, Ms. Nagalakshmi had an interaction with AP-Genco Directors M. Sujaya Kumar, P. Ashok Kumar Reddy and V. Usha. AP Power Development Company Limited Director Srinivasa Rao was present.
