Minister for School Education and Literacy Madhu Bangarappa told media persons on Saturday that the State government had filed a review petition in the High Court of Karnataka, against a single judge Bench directive to award marks not grades for third language papers in SSLC examination.

Interestingly, before the single judge Bench that issued the direction, it was the State government that said it would follow the existing system of awarding marks for third language papers during evaluation of answer sheets of the recently held SSLC exam, and not grades as was proposed midway through the exam.
