DMDK general secretary Premallatha Vijayakant said on Saturday that the party was yet to decide on which alliance it would be a part of in the 2026 Assembly election, and this would be decided before the public meeting planned in Cuddalore on January 9.
Speaking to the reporters, Ms. Premallatha said the DMDK had not reached a stage where it could announce the alliance. “All parties are friendly parties to us. We are working hard among the people. We have been able to form booth committee members in all 68,000 booths. Please wait till January 9 for the announcement,” she said.
Asked specifically if the party has started negotiations with the INDIA bloc and National Democratic Alliance, Ms. Premallatha said: “We are friendly towards all. But we have not started any specific negotiations about alliance.”
